Studies the biogeography and distribution of frogs in Amazonia. Trying to estimate where missing species are using theoretical models such as the neutral theory model. 

Studies how forest fragmentation affects bird singing from individuals (behavior) to populations (evolution) to communities (extinctions).

Studies the ecology of insects, especially the richness and diversity of Amazonian insects, in addition to investigating possible factors that may affect their distribution

Investigates how diversification rates and biogeographic history determine the latitudinal gradient of diversity. Uses neutral and metabolic models.

Study how species colonization and extinction create spatial beta diversity patterns over time

Investigates how the functional and trophic characteristics of arthropods respond to habitat fragmentation in Amazon

Investigates the effect of geography and the environment on hummingbird-plant networks and on pollination.

Investigates how life-history traits, such as those associated with ontogeny, metamorphosis, determine species diversity. One of the questions in my study is: can metamorphosis in frogs reduce competition and allow more species to coexist in a community?

Studies insect ecology, investigating how environmental variables, such as nutrients and soil composition, affect species distribution.
